Arriving at the Theatre
The lobbies of our productions open 30 minutes prior to each performance, and the house will open shortly after.
Audition Information
New York Deaf Theatre casts each production individually, however we do keep actors’ information on file as we are always looking to expand our community of #DeafTalent! If you are interested in auditioning‚ please send your digital headshot and resume to: submissions@newyorkdeaftheatre.org
Cameras
The use of all cameras and all recording devices in the theatre is prohibited for the safety of the actors.
Electronic Devices
Please remember to switch off all watches and cell phones during the performance.
Inclement Weather Cancellation Policy
While we rarely cancel a performance due to inclement weather, the safety of our patrons, casts, and staff is very important to us. If we make the decision to cancel a performance, we will attempt to contact all ticket holders in advance of the announced start time.
Internships

Late Arrival
We make every effort to begin our performances on time. In consideration of our actors and other audience members, latecomers will be seated at the discretion of the management.
Length of Performance
Performance times vary from show to show.
Location
As of this writing we do not have a permanent building for New York Deaf Theatre (unless you want to donate a performance space hint hint!). We rent out multiple venues throughout the year for our workshops and productions, so please check your tickets carefully when purchasing to confirm the location of your performance.
Play Submission Information
We are deeply committed to fostering the work of Deaf writers‚ but New York Deaf Theatre will accept submissions from ALL writers. We accept full scripts only — no queries‚ summaries‚ or sample pages‚ please. Please see our SUBMISSIONS page for more info.
